Last week there was considerable discussion about the recent news from the FCC.  The FCC made a significant announcement, recognizing the power of SMS/Text Messaging to mobile devices.  Titled “FCC ADOPTS RULES FOR DELIVERY OF COMMERCIAL MOBILE ALERTS TO THE PUBLIC DURING EMERGENCIES“, the FCC press release creates a national channel for the communications of urgent information to citizens using SMS / Text messages.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) today adopted a First
Report and Order (Order) that will support the ability of the nation’s wireless carriers to transmit timely and accurate alerts, warnings and critical information to the cell phones and other mobile devices of consumers during disasters or other emergencies.

The multitude of government agencies recognize the power of delivering “timely and accurate” reports in a time of emergency, and understand that cell phones are an optimal method to reach people at anytime, where ever they are.  This new system is going to allow the government to reach you, your family, your friends, your co-workers, and your employees.  So how can you reach those same communities of people? When the government does send an emergency notification out to the public, and there is a regional or national emergency, how do you reach your family, or employees?

Scintilla Communications can provide you that solution.  Our SMS/Text Messaging platform is designed to delivery large numbers of SMS/Text Messages to public or private groups of people, all with security and access control in mind.  Our platform allows you to create one or more delivery groups, and to send real-time or pre-programmed messages to those groups.  You have complete control over who can send to your groups, and who can join those groups.

Our messaging platform can also be used for all types of non-emergency purposes.  You can use it to send out real-time news to your groups, or to send out pre-programmed reminders about anything from sales reports to baseball games.  Our platform can also be used by companies that want to stay in touch with their customers.  The value of SMS/Text Messaging is there all of the time, in addition to times of emergency.

When the FCC system comes on line, and your family or employees receive those first emergency alerts, how are you going to follow up with your own messages and instructions?  Talk with us … Scintilla Communications can provide you a solution for your organization!
