Last week there was considerable discussion about the recent news from the FCC.  The FCC made a significant announcement, recognizing the power of SMS/Text Messaging to mobile devices.  Titled “FCC ADOPTS RULES FOR DELIVERY OF COMMERCIAL MOBILE ALERTS TO THE PUBLIC DURING EMERGENCIES“, the FCC press release creates a national channel for the communications of urgent information to citizens using SMS / Text messages.

Report and Order (Order) that will support the ability of the nation’s wireless carriers to transmit timely and accurate alerts, warnings and critical information to the cell phones and other mobile devices of consumers during disasters or other emergencies.

The multitude of government agencies recognize the power of delivering “timely and accurate” reports in a time of emergency, and understand that cell phones are an optimal method to reach people at anytime, where ever they are.  This new system is going to allow the government to reach you, your family, your friends, your co-workers, and your employees.  So how can you reach those same communities of people? Each year, vSpring asks members of the Utah business community to nominate individuals who are most likely to lead a successful start-up technology venture in the next five to seven years in a C-level executive role. Nominees who garner the most votes from their peers in a nominee-only second step of the annual voting process are then elected into the v|100.

Lemon, who has founded and contributed to several Utah and California based technology companies, founded Scintilla Communications in January of 2008 to focus on the extensive experience in SMS and Text Messaging gathered through his consulting practice.
